Jon Price, Acupuncture
Jon received his permission to practise in 2002 from The College of Traditional Acupuncture where he gained his Lic.Ac (licence to practise) and BA(Hons) in Traditional Acupuncture.
He is a Member of The British Acupuncture Council, the body that represents professional acupuncturists who have an extensive training in acupuncture. The BAcC maintains standards of education, ethics, practice and discipline to ensure the health and safety of the public.
He began his acupuncture practice working within a back care clinic. This work was alongside osteopaths giving pain relief and rehabilitative treatments.
Since 2004 Jon has worked out of a complementary therapy centre called Renaissance. Here he has worked with other acupuncture practitioners as well as counsellors, chiropractors and various massage therapists. He has also worked for the Freshwinds charity that cares specifically for individuals who have life threatening or life limiting illnesses using an integrated medical model put together by western (allopathic) doctors. This work allowed Jon to use acupuncture diagnostics and treatment with patients who were sometimes too ill to actually travel to the charity's clinic.
Students and learning acupuncture
Jon is also involved in teaching acupuncture. He served as a member of faculty at The College of Traditional Acupuncture, the college he graduated from, and was involved in all three years on the college's degree course. He was also a student supervisor for third year students observing new practitioners in their own clinics.
Currently Jon is a faculty member of The Acupuncture Academy situated in Leamington Spa where he lectures, has a role as tutor and is also the coordinator of the Qigong module.
