Acupuncture for headaches & re-tuning the system

"The National Institute of Clinical Excellence (NICE) recommends acupuncture for the treatment of tension-type headaches and migraines. NICE guidelines are available to general medical practitioners and validate acupuncture as a viable alternative to painkillers.

The report also acknowledges medication overuse as a common cause of headache.

Migraines and headaches are very common and are two of the many complaints that patients seek acupuncture for at City Spring.

From an acupuncture perspective there are many causes of headaches. One of them, however, could be generally labelled as stagnation. We may feel this not only in our body but have a general sense of not moving forward and feeling stuck in life. With the season of spring emerging and its natural energy of surging forwards we may notice our own stagnation even more than normal.

With acupuncture's appreciation of being in tune with natural rhythms there is help at hand. Treatments take into account your responses to the seasons, climate and your ways of coping with stress as well as the symptoms your body is showing. So whether you have headaches from overwork, seasonal change or they have simply been a part of your life for a long time acupuncture may help.

Acupuncture helps thousands of people find relief and a balanced way of living each year in the UK.

For well-being

When your health and balance are asking for help due to stress and anxiety, acupuncture can provide the attention your body and mind needs.

The strength of Five Element Acupuncture is its consideration of the deeper aspects of our being. Those aspects that show distress through depression or low mood. This is the form of acupuncture Jon practices at City Spring.

Choosing acupuncture

"As people have become more informed and active in their own health care, acupuncture has become an increasingly sought-after form of treatment.

Acupuncture has been used for centuries and despite modern medical advances people still turn to it for help.

Perhaps it is the approach that matters as much as the result.

This natural form of healing works towards creating a functional balance and place where the body can engage in its healing response as far as nature allows. Engaging with the body and mind in this way is the strength of acupuncture.

It helps thousands of people each year in the UK.
