At City Spring we practice traditional acupuncture .
Acupuncture is one of the longest established forms of healthcare in the world. Acupuncturists are trained to use subtle diagnostic techniques that have been developed and refined for thousands of years. The focus is on you as an individual, not your illness, and all symptoms are seen in relation to each other.
Traditional acupuncture treatment involves the insertion of very fine needles into specific points on the body to affect the balance of your body’s Qi, or vital energy.
We may also use a technique called moxabustion which is applying a smouldering herb to the same points in order to warm deeper inside the body.  (If you wonder why this is included, just think about aching muscles and how good a simple hot water bottle may feel when applied to those muscles).
Other techniques like cupping or Gua Sha may be used.
Additionally we may show you some simple Qigong exercises if they are appropriate for you and why you are seeking treatment.
